PVC foam sheets or boards are manufactured with twin screw extruders. It’s tough to foam PVC since you have to mix together the raw material and foaming compound, and then extrude a thick sheet or board. That means you need a high-mixing, high-output conical twin screw. PVC foam raw materials wear out screw barrels more quickly, so they need to be replaced more often. HUACHEN Screw has developed new optimised conical twin screw barrel for PVC foam sheet users.

1. The conical twin screw design is optimised for PVC foam sheets. It’s designed for low shear and high conveying, so the PVC foam material gets sheared, mixed, and compressed more gently during conveying. Screw heads have spiral mixing heads in the mixing section. This makes the foaming effect more uniform and the product’s surface smoother.
2. The screw flights in the compression, metering, venting, and mixing sections are all treated with a bimetallic alloy anti-wear coating. Or hard chrome plating screw as an option. Extend the life of the screw.
3. Special barrels for PVC foam sheets or boards. There is an SKD sleeve fit barrel as an option. It will improve the quality and production of PVC foam sheets. SKD sleeves are vacuum hardened and secondary nitrided for wear resistance.
4. The screw barrel base material is 38CrMoAlA, tempered, precision machined, and nitrided for superior hardness and corrosion resistance. We make all our screws and barrels on high-precision CNC screw milling machines, so extrusion performance is consistent. Surfaces on screws and barrels are smooth and free of gaps so materials don’t build up.
